Safety & Airworthiness Specialist – Level 4Skill Code: 6P3 – Safety & Regulatory Location: Everett, WA Work Schedule: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Pacific Time) Work Model: 100% Onsite Relocation: Out‑of‑state candidates accepted (self‑relocation at own expense) Overtime: Possible, but not guaranteedPosition OverviewWe are seeking a mid‑level to senior Safety & Airworthiness Specialist to join an In‑Service Safety & Compliance Investigations team based in Everett, Washington.This role is ideal for professionals passionate about aviation safety, regulatory compliance, and structured investigations. The selected candidate will play a critical role in maintaining and restoring compliance across the commercial aircraft lifecycle, directly contributing to product safety and regulatory excellence.As an investigator, you will independently lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations related to regulatory compliance issues, enabling leadership and engineering teams to identify systemic root causes and implement effective, sustainable corrective actions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead structured investigations related to:FAA Letters of InvestigationInformal and Formal Compliance ActionsVoluntary Disclosures and Self‑Audit findingsPart 25 Airworthiness non‑compliancesGuide cross‑functional engineering organizations (Systems, Structures, Payloads, Propulsion) through the complete investigation lifecycle using a structured problem‑solving methodology.Develop clear problem statements, perform comprehensive root cause analysis, and define:Containment actionsCorrective actions to prevent recurrenceVerification actions to ensure non‑recurrenceCoordinate closely with:Engineering and functional teamsSenior management and executive stakeholdersSuppliers and external partnersCollaborate with Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA) representatives to ensure investigation documentation meets regulatory expectations.Partner with enterprise stakeholders to continuously improve investigation processes, tools, and readiness for future program needs.Serve as a trusted advisor by communicating complex technical and regulatory issues to diverse technical and non‑technical audiences.Required QualificationsMinimum 10+ years of related professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional teamsAbility to take initiative, manage complex investigations, and drive issues to closureMust meet Export Control compliance requirements (U.S. Person status required: U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee)Preferred QualificationsExperience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) tools such as 5‑Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and structured problem‑solving modelsKnowledge of commercial aircraft operations, certification, and safety requirementsFamiliarity with FAA regulatory compliance and ODA procedures (FAA Order 8100.15)Experience working with FAA or other aviation regulatory agenciesBackground in commercial aircraft systems design or systems integration (e.g., Flight Controls, Avionics, Hydraulics, Fuels, Propulsion)Pilot’s License and/or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) LicenseWhy This RoleHigh‑impact position supporting aviation safety and regulatory complianceExposure to certification activities across the full aircraft lifecycleOpportunity to lead diverse, experienced teams on complex investigationsStrong work‑life balance, with occasional overtime only for urgent mattersInclusive, collaborative environment that values diverse perspectives as a key contributor to safety excellenceEducation & ExperienceThis is a Senior (Level 4) position, typically requiring:Bachelor’s degree plus 10+ years of relevant experience orMaster’s degree plus 8+ years of relevant experience orEquivalent professional experience
