Lead Pastry Chef and Cake Decorator

$17.99 - $21.42 PER HOURGENERAL PURPOSE:The purpose of this position is to maintain quality standards and product levels of all pastry and cake products in the Bakery in addition to training other Pastry Chefs and Cake Decorators. This person will be preparing, cooking, mixing, baking, assembling, packaging, labeling, and decorating cakes and pastries; ordering, receiving, and storing products, determining production and inventory levels, and providing exceptional customer service.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Follows established departmental and store policies and proceduresEnsures the quality and freshness of all products and services the Bakery providesResponsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels of all pastry and cake productsConfirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad itemsEnsures the Bakery is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearanceDelivers excellent customer service to all customersFollows production sheets to ensure appropriate inventory levels of Harmons' pastries and cakesEnsures the correct amount of ingredients and supplies are in stockMinimizes waste by ordering and storing ingredients correctly, being mindful of out-of-code dates, and rotating productPrepares, cooks, bakes, assembles, and decorates pastries for sale and to keep as back-stockBakes and decorates cakes for sale and for custom ordersMakes frosting to be used for cake decoratingWrites production sheets for other Pastry Chefs and Cake DecoratorsAssists with test and quarterly inventoryTeaches, mentors, and educates associates to help them be successful members of the teamProvides honest, direct, and constant feedback to Pastry Chefs and Cake Decorators regarding their performance and areas of improvementWrite the schedule for Pastry Chefs and Cake DecoratorsCommunicates openly and frequently with Store Director, Bakery Manager, Cake and Pastry Merchandiser, and Director of Fresh BakeryMARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs other job-related duties as assigned.NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:Consistent and daily interaction with store associatesConsistent and daily interaction with customersTRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
