Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for a full-time, in-person position. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive mental health care within a dynamic clinical setting. The on-site team is supportive and friendly. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality patient care, utilizing their expertise in psychiatric assessment, medication management, and therapeutic interventions. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support patients across diverse age groups and mental health conditions, ensuring personalized treatment plans that promote recovery and well-being.
Duties
Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and diagnostic assessments using EMR systems.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating medication management, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic modalities.
Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, including those requiring specialized knowledge such as psychopharmacology and botulinum toxin treatments where applicable.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care effectively.
Manage urgent psychiatric crises through triage protocols, de-escalation techniques, and emergency response procedures aligned with hospital or outpatient settings.
Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations and ensuring compliance with ICD-10 coding standards.
Provide education on mental health conditions, medication usage, lifestyle modifications, and behavioral health strategies to patients and their families.
Experience
Proven experience as a PMHNP in an in-patient setting.
Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation and coding.
Experience managing patients with complex psychiatric conditions including dementia care, memory care, substance use disorders, and acute pain management cases.
