You are responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing processes to maximize quality and cost-effectiveness using Lean and Six Sigma tools. By utilizing frameworks like data-driven improvement cycles (DMAIC) for continuous improvement and failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) to proactively prevent defects, you will drive operational excellence through technical documentation, ROI-based equipment evaluations, and data-driven root cause analysis.What You’ll Do: Process Design & Optimization: Develop and improve manufacturing sequences, layout, tooling, and workstations using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed Work Instructions (WIs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Bills of Materials (BOMs). New Product Development: Collaborate with engineering to ensure new designs are manufacturable and lead the transition from prototype to production. Root Cause Analysis: Utilize tools such as the 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA to understand root causes and eliminate recurring production bottlenecks. Capital Projects: Evaluate new equipment purchases and recommend them to management based on ROI calculations. Continuous Improvement: Lead crossfunctional teams using formal problemsolving methodologies, including DMAIC for complex problems and PDCA for rapid process improvements. Follow all safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. Always represents the company in a professional mannerWhat It Takes: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering. 5+ years in an automotive manufacturing environment Strong command of AutoCAD, Inventor, or SketchUp Experience with ERP/MRP systems, NetSuite Preferred. Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). A "handson" approach with the ability to communicate effectively with both executive leadership and operators. Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, meet production deadlines, and take initiative in completing tasks and solving problems. Strong communication and teamwork skills, a positive attitude, commitment to safety (including required PPE), and ability to maintain a clean, organized workspace.
