Staff Accountant ILocation: San Antonio, Texas | Downtown | HybridMy client is looking for a Staff Accountant to serve as a key partner to the development team by owning the accounting and financial reporting for active projects from pre-development through closeout. This role is ideal for an accountant who enjoys digging into details, understanding how projects are built financially, and turning data into clear, actionable insights.What You Will Do as a Staff AccountantTake ownership of project-level general ledger activity and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in the proper periodPrepare and analyze monthly project financials, highlighting variances, trends, and items that require further discussionPartner with development and operations teams to understand project activity and resolve accounting questionsPerform budget vs. actual analysis and provide clear explanations for changes in costs and timingSupport month-end close by preparing accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedulesTrack project costs, commitments, and funding sources to ensure alignment with budgets and financing structuresAssist with construction draws, pay applications, and lender reporting requirementsWhat My Client Is Looking for in a Staff AccountantBachelor’s degree in Accounting is a must3-4 years of progressive accounting experienceStrong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principlesExperience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closeComfortable working in Excel and building / maintaining schedulesExperience in real estate or construction environments is a plus#DevelopmentAccountant, #ProjectAccounting, #RealEstateAccounting, #ConstructionAccounting, #AccountingJobs, #FinanceJobs, #StaffAccountant, #SeniorAccountant, #AccountingCareers, #AccountingProfessionalsClick here to apply online
