Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Clerk Department: Supply Chain ManagementReports to: Supervisor, Shipping & ReceivingFLSA Status: Non-ExemptPay Type: HourlyObjective of the Position: This position is designed to ensure proper receipt of deliveries and accurate processing of shipments. Additionally, the Clerk is to work with the Accounting department to ensure timely payments to suppliers and proof of delivery to our customers.Essential Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, thatShipping Responsibilities:Sends accurate and timely ASNsSchedules customer shipments based on customer directives, and distributes as needed to internal and external teamsCreates scheduled pick up sheets for customer shipmentsCreates accurate shipment paperwork necessary for customers and locations, including: shippers, BOL, and customsCreates labels for shipments per customer requirementsMonitors truck log to ensure accurate window timesCoordinates with other shipping representatives to ensure timely call in of trucksTroubleshoots and corrects errors on shippers/invoices to ensure that inventory and billing are correctCreates and processes RMA'sReceiving Responsibilities:Receive, inspect, and sign for all material and packages coming into the buildingMatch the parts received to the packing slip and POVerify the part numbers on the PO match the part numbers on the packing slipProcess the PO on the computer using SAPProcess Customer Returns using SAPMake sure the parts and bin boxes are in the proper order with labels, and it is easy to read the part numbersWork with the planners on parts that are running low and need to be ordered, and in order to maintain appropriate inventory levelsWork with daily cycle counters to reconcile receipt issuesSecondary Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, thatUpdates and maintains daily reports from SAP, and distributes as neededCreates a daily list of what can be boxed for servicePerforms layered auditsOther duties as assignedRequirement Profile:Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:HS Diploma or equivalentMinimum one year related experience and/or training in manufacturing setting, preferably in materials.Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and a strong knowledge of SAP is preferredFamiliar with both the UPS and FedEx system a plusMust have an understanding of the parts that are being receivedProfessional demeanor and cooperative attitudeGood written and oral communication skillsDetail oriented, highly organized, and responsibleTechnical Expertise:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write simple correspondenceBusiness Acumen- Understands business implications of decisionsKnowledge of continuous improvement of products for manufacturabilityStrives to continuously improve expertise, knowledge, and skillsMethodical Competence:Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environmentAdaptability - Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected eventsAttendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absentDependability - Follows instructions, responds to management directionOrganizational Support - Follows policies and procedures; Supports organization's goals and valuesPlanning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficientlyProblem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situationsWorking Conditions:This position involves working indoors around mechanical and hazards, fumes, irritants, with exposure to cold, heat and high noise levels under adverse conditions.The person must spend time walking around the manufacturing plant floor as well as warehousing and material handling venues.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.Physical Requirements:Sits: Frequently 2.5 - 5.5 hours dailyStands: Occasionally .25 - 2.5 hours dailyWalks: Occasionally .25 - 2.5 hours dailyDrive: Occasionally .25 - 2.5 hours dailyLift/Carry 0-10 lbs.: Occasionally .25 - 2.5 hours dailyLift/Carry 10-20 lbs.: Occasionally .25 - 2.5 hours dailyLift/Carry 20-50 lbs.: Occasionally .25 - 2.5 hours dailyLift/Carry 50- over 100 lbs.: Occasionally .25 - 2.5 hours dailyReach Above: Occasionally .25 - 2.5 hours dailyBend/Stoop: Occasionally .25 - 2.5 hours dailyUse Hands for Pushing/Pulling: Occasionally .25 - 2.5 hours dailyUse Hands for Manipulations: Never
