Overview In this role you will manage Knexus's day-to-day accounting and drive the close process, GAAP reporting, and internal controls. You will partner with leadership to deliver financial insight and maintain compliance across govCon requirements. The position involves hands-on execution in a small/lean finance team, with broad exposure to budgeting, audits, and regulatory filings. You will help ensure financial health while supporting growth and government contracting readiness. ResponsibilitiesPerform day-to-day accounting functions (general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, revenue recognition)Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for accuracy and timelinessPrepare and maintain GAAP financial statementsManage cash flow, reconciliations, and overall financial healthEstablish and maintain internal controls and accounting policiesSupport budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning with leadershipCoordinate external audits, tax filings, and financial reviewsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsSupport GovCon accounting requirements (cost tracking, indirect rates, audit readiness, e.g., DCAA)Identify and implement process improvements and system efficiencies Key requirementsBachelor in Accounting, Finance, or related field (experience in lieu of degree considered)5–10 years progressive accounting experience in small to mid-sized orgsStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reportingExperience owning full accounting cycle independentlyFamiliarity with GovCon accounting and compliance (DCAA) is strongly preferredExperience supporting audits and working with external auditorsProficiency with accounting systems/ERP tools and advanced ExcelStrong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple prioritiesCPA or working toward certificationUS citizen eligible for US government security clearance (Secret)attention to detailorganizationmulti-taskingGAAPfinancial reportingGovCon accounting practices and compliance (DCAA)
