Operations Lead — Food Production & Delivery (Pilot Phase) Family Chef is not a restaurant.It is not a meal kit.It is not a catering business. Family Chef is a system. Each week, we produce and deliver four chef-cooked dinners to families.Each meal has a Main and Sweet for 4-6 people.Each week there is a different theme so every week the menu is different.Every household receives the same experience.Every dish must reheat perfectly.Every delivery must arrive on time. We are launching at approximately 500 households per week , with a clear path to 2,000+ . This role is responsible for making that happen. The Role You will own the end-to-end execution of the Family Chef system: Ingredient procurement Production planning and batch cooking Quality control and consistency Packing, labeling, and dispatch Delivery coordination Your responsibility is simple to state and difficult to achieve: Execute the system flawlessly, every week, without deviation. What This Role Requires You are: Highly organized and process-driven Calm under pressure at real operating scale Detail-oriented and consistent Comfortable managing both kitchen production and logistics Able to follow and enforce systems precisely Scope of Responsibility Translate weekly menus into detailed production plans Execute batch cooking at launch scale (~500 households) Build systems that scale to 1,000–2,000 households Maintain strict adherence to SOPs Ensure food quality holds through reheating Oversee packing accuracy and sequencing Coordinate delivery timing and routing Manage kitchen staff and drivers Standards On-time delivery is non-negotiable Food quality must be consistent across every household Systems are followed exactly If something breaks, you fix the system—not the symptom. Who This Suits You may come from: High-volume catering production Commissary or central kitchens Meal prep or prepared food operations System-driven, batch-focused environments You are likely: Currently second-in-command or a senior operator Experienced at meaningful volume Known for being reliable, structured, and exacting More focused on execution than recognition Pilot Phase Context Location: Greenwich, CT Launch scale: ~500 households per week Growth target: 1,000 → 2,000+ households Small, focused team High standards from day one This is a build phase.There is no legacy system to rely on. You will help establish the operating model that future kitchens follow. Compensation $2,500+ per week Performance-based bonus tied to execution Compensation is structured to reward consistent, high-standard delivery at scale.
