Job Summary
The Application Developer partners with Actuary, IT Data, and vendor engineering teams to support the Actuarial Modeling and Data Management Platform. This role contributes to development, integration, data engineering, and technical support activities that strengthen platform performance, automation, and usability. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior developer with strong Python skills to grow into a specialized engineering career within actuarial, financial, or risk domains.
Key Responsibilities
Support development of platform features and enhancements using Python .
Assist in building data pipelines, integrations, and workflows for actuarial modeling.
Collaborate with senior developers on performance tuning, reliability improvements, and application support.
Participate in testing, verification, and deployment of solutions.
Partner with Actuary Model Development to provide data, analytics, and tooling support.
Work with Actuary Valuation teams to enable model analytics, reporting, and workflow automation.
Required Experience
2-5 years of experience as a Python developer.
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Experience contributing to development projects, platforms, or data workflows.
Nice-to-Have Experience
Exposure to actuarial systems, financial modeling, or risk analytics.
Experience with C++ or high-performance computing environments.
Experience in cloud environments (AWS / Azure).
Required Skills
Strong proficiency in Python , including debugging, testing, and version control.
Understanding of core software development principles.
Basic knowledge of SQL, data management, and cloud tools.
Strong documentation and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work.
Preferred Skills
Exposure to C++ and interest in learning advanced computing tools.
Understanding of modeling, analytics workflows, or financial system integrations.
Additional Skills
Ability to partner with actuarial teams and technical stakeholders.
Support for data engineering workflows and automation.
Participation in cross-team technical development cycles.
