As a Public Sector Solutions Engineering Manager, you will lead and grow a team that sells to business and IT leaders across Federal accounts. You will own the technical strategy for the region, ensure consistent execution of customer‐centric solutions, and partner closely with Sales to expand Box's footprint in new and existing public sector accounts. You will also serve as a critical liaison between Sales and Product – translating customer feedback into actionable insights for Product Management, Operations, and Engineering.This role focuses on U.S. Public Sector customers. We're looking for a manager who understands procurement, compliance, and mission needs across Federal clients and other government programs, and who can coach a team to deliver high‐impact, compliant solutions. If you enjoy white boarding, problem‐solving, and mentoring technical teams, we want to talk to you.What you'll doRecruit, mentor, and develop the Public Sector solutions engineering teamRefine and scale core solutions engineering processes such as discovery, ideation, technical qualification, and proof‐of‐conceptManage and drive the technical win to reach team targetsParticipate in the execution of team and cross‐functional initiatives set by senior leadershipInfluence strategic account plans for larger clientsProvide advice and response strategy for RFPs; present recommendations and associated benefitsPromote products and Box solutions at regional conferences, forums, and seminars; participate in regional industry events and organizations to share your point of viewCollaborate with internal cross‐functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction and long‐term success and provide critical feedback to Product and Engineering teams based on public sector needs and field experienceOversee technical demos and proof‐of‐concepts across Box offerings (Box AI, Mobile, Relay, Governance, Platform and API‐based apps)Travel up to 40% to engage with customers and work with team membersWho you areWe are an AI‐first company. You approach your work with a growth mindset and leverage AI to make faster, smarter decisions that amplify your team's impact.4year degree or equivalent work experience required5+ years of experience in solutions engineering or solution consulting; prior experience managing a solutions engineering team is desiredDemonstrated success working with Public Sector customers, with deep knowledge of Federal compliance and procurement processes; knowledge of common public sector use casesSolid understanding of FedRAMP authorization processes and other compliance frameworks affecting SaaS vendorsExperience with government procurement cycles, RFP/RFI processes, and contract vehicles (e.g., GSA schedules, state master contracts)You're AIcurious and technically fluent – comfortable discussing LLMs, embeddings, automation, and prompt/context engineering concepts with both technical and business audiencesStrong presentation skills, able to build trust across technical and non‐technical audiences; passionate about showing, not just telling – designing demos and narratives that make the power of Box AI tangible.Experience managing strategic partner and subcontractor relationships commonly used in public sector engagementsProven track record of driving KPIs such as deal velocity, technical win rates, and adoption through strong technical leadership and enablementStellar interpersonal and coaching skills with the ability to build trust across diverse public sector stakeholdersBox values community and in‐person collaboration. Actual OTE range is dependent upon factors such as: knowledge, skill level, experience, and work location. This role is also eligible for equity and benefits.
