Cable Technician

Data Center Cable TechnicianJob OverviewTEKsystems is seeking Cable Technicians to support large-scale data center infrastructure builds. This role is ideal for technicians with hands-on structured cabling experience who are comfortable working in active construction and data center environments.Technicians will be responsible for installing, routing, and terminating copper and fiber cabling while supporting the physical layer of the data center network infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesPull, route, and install copper and fiber optic cabling throughout the data centerLay out and install:Cable tray, wireway, bus ductJ-hooks, D-rings, bridal rings, trapeze systemsBuild and complete network closets, including:Mounting backboards, racks, and cabinetsInstalling patch panels, fiber enclosures, and cross-connectsPerform pre-termination workMeasuring cable length and slackDressing, labeling, and organizing cablesTerminate Cat6 cabling and assist with fiber terminations as requiredComplete all terminations (110/66 blocks and patch panels)Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cablingRead and interpret blueprints, prints, and project documentsOperate hand and power tools including cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jack hammersFollow all safety, quality, and site-specific proceduresComplete required documentation such as time tracking and work ordersRequired Skills & QualificationsMinimum 1 year of commercial structured cabling experience (mandatory)Experience pulling copper and fiber in a commercial or data center environmentWorking knowledge of:Network equipmentCat6 terminationFiber opticsAbility to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specificationsKnowledge of universal communications color codesProficiency with common low-voltage hand and power toolsReliable transportation to job sitesStrong attendance, work ethic, and ability to work on a teamWork EnvironmentConstruction and data center environmentSteel-toe boots requiredPPE must be worn on-site Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Social Circle, GA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
