Assistant Family Support Worker SupervisorAs an Assistant Family Support Worker Supervisor, you will work as part of the Short-term Services Program. This program developed an intensive case-management service designed to resolve the concrete and referral needs of families entering the Child Welfare System. Resolving these issues within 90 days of admission reduces families' risk for referral to Long-term CPS. You will provide services to children and families to support of these goals. We provide services in the office, home, school and community. You will report to the Program Coordinator and will work onsite with community-based travel required.ResponsibilitiesProvide services to a modified caseload of children and families. Support families in obtaining needed services by making referrals, providing transportation, accompanying them to appointments, and assisting with applications (medical, schools, DSS, etc.). Maintain positive and professional relationships with families. Maintain cultural sensitivity, competence, and client confidentiality. Complete all required paperwork promptly. Function within the philosophy and policy of the agency of employment and within the policies and procedures of the Short-term Services Program. Complete all required trainings, participate in weekly supervision with program Coordinator and attend required meetings and in-services.Maintain knowledge of community services.Maintain good working relationships with DSS/Support Unit caseworkers.Provide opportunities for new employees to shadow appointments.Provide basic instruction on program philosophy and information on community resources to new employees.Provide new employee orientation training.Work with SCDSS personnel to receive referrals and ensure service provision including scheduling, tracking and overseeing completion of progress notes.Provide case guidance to FSWs in the absence of the coordinator.Help with the hiring of program staff.Requirements And EducationAssociate's degree and two years of related work experience, or equivalent required.Must have a valid NYS driver's licenseBenefitsHealth care package: medical, dental, and visionTuition reimbursementPaid time offHoliday Pay401 (K) planLife InsuranceLoan repayment assistanceFree training/CEU opportunitiesAbout Northern RiversAt Northern Rivers Family of Services, we work together to make a difference in our client's lives.
