The practice of a physician assistant shall include medical services within the education, training and experience of the physician assistant that are delegated by the supervising physician. Responsibilities: Assist in the OR/participate in rounds on assigned service Assess patients. Record physical and history on assigned service with countersignature within 24 hours. Apply and remove casts and/or traction Change surgical dressings/perform minor suturing/removal of sutures Order routine laboratory work and x-rays. Start IV's and draw blood. On the instruction of the attending physician, will write orders for medical and intravenous fluid. Write routine orders including diet, patient activity and all other diagnostic procedures. May see patients in ER/ECP and/or Clinic Experience and Education: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant school Registered as a Physician's Assistant in New York NCCPA(certified) DEA license/CPR-BLS/NPI/NCC PA required.
