Who We Are:The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking an Instructional Coach at Perrin Woods Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. We are Wildcats!As a Instructional Coach, you are required to:Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Degree preferredValid and current Teaching Certificate/License isued by the Ohio Department of EducationMinimum of 5 years teaching experience preferredExcellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability in exceptional classroom instructionAs a Instructional Coach you will:Meets regularly with the Principal, Coordinator and the Director of Teaching and LearningIdentifies and assesses barriers and challenges in the classroom to support teachersUnderstands the complexities of the learning process and is able to design, support, understand and promote the instructional and curriculum practices that have been selected by the District, and support practices that help teachers be successfulFosters a supportive, feed-back friendly relationship with teachers and leadershipSupports all social emotional learning (SEL) initiativesAdvises teachers on becoming more effective facilitators of learning for all studentsAssists in supporting challenging curriculum, dynamic instruction and an effective program of effective multifaceted assessmentPartners with building leadership to continually improve the building's yearly academic priorities and Performance on the academic performance indicators identified on the Local Report CardProvides teachers coaching supportSupports Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA) in assigned buildingsKeeps current with K-12 course of study, District scope and sequence framework, and state standards/guidelinesAdvocates for and interprets curriculum and instruction programs to interested parents, school-related groups and others in the communityCoordinates teaching and learning initiativesFacilitates professional development and supports Teacher Based TeamsEngages in collaborative planning with colleagues, supporting building and District-level programsPrepares the necessary records and reports related to the performance of curriculum coaching responsibilitiesSupports the Principal in the implementation of District policies impacting teaching and learningAssists in supporting challenging curriculum, dynamic instruction and an effective program of effective multifaceted assessmentPartners with leadership and staff to analyze dataParticipates in expected and required training and professional development opportunitiesSupports building level professional development needs identified by the building principals, as requested by teachers, and or directedPerforms other duties as assignedWhat We Offer:As a contracted employee, Instructional Reading Specialist work 183 days per year and 7.25 hours per day.Starting salary is $42,957.00 with increases for additional education and experience, this also includes 10 extended days.Contracted employees receive competitive benefits.All employees receive professional developmentSalary details available below in the Springfield Education Association (SEA) negotitated agreement:Springfield Education Association (SEA)* Special Note: $1,600.00 Annual Longevity Bonus awarded to the successful candidate!!!The Instructional Reading Specialist position is grant funded and only available if funding is approved. Funding will be reviewed on an annual basis and is not guaranteed to continue each year. Incumbents will be notified annually on position availability for the next year.
