Senior Full Stack Developer
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you'll design and ship high-performance web applications across our React/Next.js frontend and Node.js/Express backend with real autonomy. You'll make architectural calls, explain the tradeoffs behind them, and stand behind them in review. You'll work directly with product managers and stakeholders to shape requirements, not just receive them. And you'll help raise the bar for the engineers around you through mentorship and thorough code review. You won't be handed a ticket queue. You'll help decide what gets built, how it gets built, and why, then own that decision end-to-end. At Fastbreak AI, engineering isn't downstream of product; it's at the table shaping it. This is a role for someone who gets energized by complexity, cares about craft, and wants their fingerprints on the architecture of a product that's changing how sports organizations operate.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop scalable, high-performance web applications using React, Next.js, and ExpressOwn architectural decisions and be able to articulate the reasoning and tradeoffs behind themIntegrate AI and LLM-powered features into production applications thoughtfully and with an eye toward reliability and user impactCollaborate with product managers and stakeholders to shape technical requirements from the ground upDiagnose and resolve complex bugs across the full stackChampion engineering best practices and help define how the team works at its bestRequirementsStrong proficiency with React.js and Next.js on the frontendSolid Node.js and Express.js experience on the backendHands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, or similar)Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working within a microservices architectureComfort with Git-based workflows and CI/CD practicesActive use of AI coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar) as part of your day-to-day workflowA track record of making and defending architectural decisions, not just implementing themClear communication skills; you can translate technical tradeoffs for non-technical stakeholderNice to Have:Experience building or integrating LLM-powered features in production (RAG pipelines, agent workflows, evaluation frameworks)Familiarity with sports tech, real-time data pipelines, or performance-sensitive consumer applicationsExperience with infrastructure-as-code or deployment automationLocationWe're based in Charlotte, NC and looking for a team member to work in our offices 5 days a weekWhy Join Us?Work with repeat exit founders who have successfully built and scaled startupsWork with cutting-edge technology and make a direct impact on product innovationBe part of a fast-growing startup with an agile and dynamic environmentCollaborate with top talent across engineering, product, and marketing teamsGain exposure to customer interactions and shape product experiences based on real-world feedbackBenefitsCompetitive salary and equity packageComprehensive health, dental, and vision benefitsA 401(k) plan with employer matchingSubmit your resume, portfolio/GitHub profile, and a brief cover letter explaining why you're a great fit for this role.
