Job Type: Contract Job Category: IT Position Title : Network Engineer SME Location :- Springfield, VA (Onsite) Contract Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong expertise in SD-WAN technologies and Data Center networking. The role involves designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure while ensuring high availability, security, and performance across WAN and data center environments. Must Have Technical/Functional Skills Deep expertise in SD-WAN architecture, deployment, and troubleshooting Strong knowledge of Data Center networking (Leaf-Spine, VXLAN, EVPN) Experience with routing & switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP) Hands-on with enterprise network vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, etc.) Firewall and segmentation concepts (ACLs, NAT, VPN, IPSec) Load balancing and high availability design Network monitoring and performance tuning tools Understanding of cloud connectivity and hybrid networking models Roles & Responsibilities Act as the SME for SD-WAN and Data Center network design and operations Design, deploy, and maintain scalable WAN and data center architectures Lead network optimization, capacity planning, and performance improvements Troubleshoot complex network incidents and provide root cause analysis Collaborate with security, cloud, and infrastructure teams Document architecture, standards, and operational procedures Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership Ensure compliance with network security and governance policies Required Skills DEVOPS ENGINEER SENIOR EMAIL SECURITY ENGINEER
