Mobile Security Officer
JOB GOAL
To maintain a safe and secure environment for all district students, staff, and visitors by ensuring the school district is prepared to prevent, mitigate possible threats, and effectively respond to both emergency and non-emergency situations that may impact the safety and well-being of our school community

FLSA: Non - Exempt
Reports to: Asst. Director of Safety & Security
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine (9) month (179 day) contract, Plus Benefits Package NOTE: Precise placement on the salary schedule will be determined based on experience.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 21 years old
Must have a high school diploma or GED
Must have at least 3 years of related experience Associate's degree or higher is preferred (not required)
CRIMINAL BACKGROUND
No felony arrests or convictions
No misdemeanor arrests or convictions in the last 6 years
DRIVER'S LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
You must have a valid driver's license and:
No reckless driving or DWI in the last 7 years
License cannot have been suspended, denied, or revoked in the past 3 years
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must pass a drug test
Must be able to handle the physical demands of security work Must be able to work in different weather/environmental condition

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities outlined below describe the general nature and level of work expected for this position. Investigate school vehicle accidents involving buses or other district
Investigate incidents and write detailed reports about what
Patrol assigned areas of the city using a cruiser to monitor
Help transport students with behavioral issues when
Observe and report unlawful or suspicious
Protect people and property from harm, theft, trespassing, fire, or
Handle tense situations calmly using good judgment and
Respond to service calls at all locations in the school
Monitor bus stops to prevent problems or
Watch for safety hazards, including fire risks and other security
Communicate effectively in English, both speaking and
Work with other officials on scene when incidents
Assist school-based officers with safety and security
Perform other related duties assigned by
Work a rotating night shift (Monday - Friday) which includes on-call every 6-7 weeks
Mental Functions, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions;
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and down stairs, and operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone and write.
Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds.
This position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information.
Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work areas, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by the immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
