Search JobsToggle navigation Back to results New Search Sign Up LoginMechanic/Fabricator Brownstown, MI 48174 Employment Type: Contract to Perm Job Number: 56698771 Pay Rate: $30.00 / hourJob DescriptionFabricator / MechanicBrownstown, MIDay shift-$30 per hour BOEPrimary Purpose & FunctionCardinal Staffing is seeking a skilled and dependable Fabricator / Mechanic to support the fabrication, assembly, maintenance, and repair of high-performance automotive components and race vehicles. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, fabrication experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced motorsports and manufacturing environment. Candidates should be comfortable using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesPerform fabrication, assembly, and mechanical repairs on race vehicles and automotive componentsRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawingsCut, grind, weld, and fit metal components to specificationsInstall and repair suspension, drivetrain, brake, steering, and chassis componentsOperate fabrication equipment including grinders, saws, drill presses, and welding machinesPerform MIG and TIG welding as neededTroubleshoot mechanical issues and complete repairs efficientlyUse precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measuresMaintain clean and organized work areas while following safety proceduresAssist with vehicle setup, testing, and performance modificationsWork collaboratively with engineering, fabrication, and production teamsPerform preventative maintenance on equipment and shop toolsSkills & QualificationsPrevious fabrication and automotive mechanic experience requiredExperience with MIG/TIG welding preferredAbility to read blueprints and technical drawingsStrong mechanical troubleshooting skillsKnowledge of automotive systems, suspension, chassis, and drivetrain componentsExperience using hand tools, power tools, grinders, and fabrication equipmentAbility to work independently and within a team environmentStrong attention to detail and quality workmanshipMotorsports or performance vehicle experience is a plusMust be dependable with a stable work historyPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, bend, lift, and move throughout the shiftAbility to lift up to 50 pounds regularlyComfortable working in a manufacturing/shop environmentAbility to safely operate shop equipment and toolsWork EnvironmentAutomotive fabrication and performance racing environmentFast-paced shop setting with exposure to noise, machinery, and metal fabrication processesSafety equipment and PPE required at all timesAbout Cardinal StaffingAt Cardinal Staffing, we are dedicated to helping individuals unlock their career potential through meaningful job opportunities.
