Specialty Gas Lab Manager

We are seeking an experienced Specialty Gas Lab Manager to oversee lab operations, ensuring product quality and driving continuous improvement. This role is critical in managing the analysis and certification of specialty gases, ensuring compliance, maintaining instrumentation, and supervising one full-time lab technician. Our labs, located in Springfield and Portland, are ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Accredited. What You’ll Do: Gas Analysis and Quality Assurance: Utilize analytical instrumentation for gas analysis, troubleshoot methods and equipment, analyze multi-component gas mixtures using gas chromatography, and prepare certification reports to ensure all products meet industry standards and customer expectations. Process Optimization and Compliance: Develop and refine analytical methods, monitor compliance with SOPs, review and approve analytical results, and coordinate with our Distribution Manager on delivery schedules. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant safety and regulatory guidelines, including ISO, FDA, and EPA standards. Lab Management and Operations: Oversee lab operations, including staffing, scheduling, inventory management, and equipment calibration/validation. Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities, including test results, quality control data, and regulatory compliance documentation. Customer Support: Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address technical inquiries and resolve quality concerns. Who You Are: Experienced: Associate's degree in Chemistry or related field, or 3-5 years of relevant experience, including work with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and other quality management systems (preferred). Knowledgeable: Skilled in analytical chemistry, gas analysis techniques, including gas chromatography and spectroscopy. Enthusiastic team player who thrives in collaborative environments, knowing that our collective efforts are the driving force behind our innovation and success. Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment while exercising independent decision-making. Enjoy working on multiple projects at the same time while showing flexibility with changing priorities. Meticulous, highly organized, forensic and relentlessly curious in problem solving.
