POSITION SUMMARY:BFWC is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to serve as the lead finance and accounting professional for our family-owned business. This is a newly created role, designed to strengthen financial leadership as the organization continues to grow and evolve. Reporting directly to the family owners and partnering closely with the leadership team, the Director of Finance will play a key role in building structure, enhancing financial planning and controls, and providing forward-looking insight to support long-term business success.This role blends strategic financial leadership with hands-on execution, overseeing accounting operations, budgeting and forecasting, tax coordination, risk management, and financial systems. The ideal candidate is comfortable working close to the details while exercising sound judgment and perspective to support high-quality decision-making.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Financial Leadership & PlanningServe as a trusted financial advisor to the family owners and leadership teamLead annual and multi-year budgeting, forecasting, and financial planningTranslate business objectives into clear financial assumptions, forecasts, and performance metricsProvide insightful analysis to support strategic initiatives and operational decisionsAccounting, Controls & ComplianceOversee general accounting, month-end and year-end close processesEnsure accurate, timely financial statements and compliance with applicable regulationsDesign and maintain strong internal controls and financial policiesCoordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors and advisorsTax, Risk & GovernanceCoordinate corporate tax planning, compliance filings, and payments with external tax advisorsReview and advise on California Pass-Through Entity (PTE) tax paymentsIdentify financial and operational risks and recommend mitigation strategiesOversee insurance programs and review contracts for financial and risk implicationsSystems & InfrastructureOversee financial systems and reporting processes, including Microsoft Business CentralPartner with IT and operational leaders to improve data integrity, reporting, and scalabilityStrengthen documentation, governance, and consistency across finance operationsTeam & Relationship ManagementLead, develop, and mentor the Accounting/Finance teamAlign team structure and capabilities with business needsManage relationships with banks, tax advisors, auditors, and consultantsQUALIFICATIONS:RequiredBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field10+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including senior-level leadershipStrong expertise in accounting, financial planning, controls, and financial systemsProven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on executionHigh judgment, discretion, and ability to work closely with owners and senior leadersPreferredCPA and/or MBAExperience in a family-owned or closely held businessExperience with Microsoft Business Central or similar ERP systemsWORK ENVIRONMENT:On-site office role based in Clarksburg, CA Occasional travel between local facilities or meetings in the greater Sacramento areaBENEFITS:We offer a competitive compensation package and benefits designed to support your health, financial well‑being, and work‑life integration, including employer‑sponsored medical, dental, and vision coverage with a generous employer contribution; 401(k) with employer match; Paid Time Off and paid holidays; voluntary supplemental plans; employee discounts; and more.No relocation assistance is provided. This role is eligible for a bonus. COMPENSATION:$180,000 - $200,000 /yrIndividual offers are made contingent upon a candidate's prior experience and education level as they relate to the role.
