Housekeeping Team Leader
Our Mission: Since the 1893 World Columbian Exposition, our organization has aimed to connect people to the natural environment and human history.Under the direct supervision of Aramark and The Field Museum management of Shift Lead Person where assigned, performs according to established procedures a variety of environmental service duties to maintain the facility buildings in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition.Duties And ResponsibilitiesInstruct and train employees in the proper use of equipment. Act as a liaison between all shifts, and notes communication problems with peers or managers, report all pertinent information to the manager. Perform a minimum of 15 area inspections a week, check all assigned areas at least 5 times daily. Start the shift on time and arranges for assigned areas to have adequate coverage at all times by checking sign-in sheets and using personnel effectively. Plan and adjust work schedules to assure proper coverage. Ensure that all green sheets are maintained and attend green sheet meetings. Reports the need of equipment needing repairs and any unsafe conditions. Maintain at all times the proper control over the use of chemicals and supplies and ensure proper usage and cost containment. Ensures that visual uniform inspections are done daily. Maintains all assigned areas with the correct preventative maintenance procedures as outlined in department policy as requested. Assists in enhancing productivity and efficient operations of the department. Promotes effective interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships, maintaining professional conduct at all times. QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of five (5) years of housekeeping experience, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory role. Proven management skills, including experience overseeing housekeeping staff and coordinating vendor services. Strong understanding of housekeeping department budgeting and operations. Ability to walk and stand for long periods, and to push, pull, lift, and move up to 50 lbs. Experience in trade-related tasks relevant to the housekeeping field.
