Project overview:Our client is building a VR drone-simulation training tool on a MetaQuest 3 headset (evaluating alternatives), using bare-hand control instead of controllers. A hand-based "typing" interaction (anchor points on the hand mapped to keys) is already prototyped. Remaining work: integrating that interaction system, and new gesture-based flight controls, into a third-party VR flight/drone simulator (not built from scratch).Core responsibilities:Own the Unity/VR application layer end-to-endIntegrate the existing hand-tracking interaction system into a licensed third-party simulatorDesign gesture-to-flight-control mappings (movement, roll, pitch, yaw) in collaboration with the CV/hand-tracking engineer — this is undefined, invented-as-you-go work, not a fixed specConsume hand-tracking/skeleton data (from the headset's native hand-tracking API and/or the CV engineer's custom output) and turn it into in-simulator controlsMentor and eventually manage 1–2 developers hired laterRequired skills:Strong Unity + C# (confirmed stack elements)Proven VR development experience, ideally with Meta Quest / Meta XR SDKExperience with XR input systems (hand-tracking APIs, gesture-based interaction), not necessarily building CV models from scratchComfortable working in ambiguous, evolving scopeNice to have:Flight simulation or drone control software experiencePrior lead/management experienceExperience integrating third-party simulation assets/SDKs
