2nd Shift Direct Support Professional
We are hiring 3 DSPs for full time Monday through Friday 2 pm - 10 pm. Starting wage is $18/hr but with experience that will be higher. We offer benefits which amount to over $6200 a year paid on your behalf! COM will pay more than 70% of your health insurance premium and 50% of your dental and vision. HOUSE 1: Located in Hermon on the Fuller Rd. This home supports two members, one male and one female. We are hiring 1 DSP for the second shift.
HOUSE 2: Located in the Bangor Gardens, this home also supports two members, one male and one female. Experience with dementia is a plus. We are hiring 2 DSPs for this home so if you know someone else who is also looking please send them our way.
Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental differences and other special needs. This position involves providing compassionate care, support, and assistance to clients in various settings, including home health, assisted living, and memory care environments. The DSP is responsible for fostering independence while ensuring the safety and well-being of members.
Duties
Assist members with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
Provide support in developing life skills and promoting independence among individuals with developmental differences.
Monitor and observe member behavior, reporting any changes or concerns to appropriate personnel.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of member information.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to implement care plans effectively.
Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to member care.
Engage members in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and emotional well-being.
Qualifications
Experience working with individuals with developmental differences is highly desirable but not necessary.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure member privacy is maintained.
Previous experience in home health or assisted living settings is advantageous.
Skills in medication administration and member observation are preferred.
Ability to prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to caregiving are essential.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and training in memory care techniques is encouraged.
