Safety And Security AssistantSupports the Safety and Security Manager in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, volunteers, and visitors at Orange County Rescue Mission. This role is responsible for assisting all security operations, enforcing policies, responding to incidents with professionalism and compassion and helping create a stable and welcoming environment for individuals experiencing homelessness.
This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: No Experience Needed
Communication Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.
Math Skills: Ability to add and subtract and to multiply and divide.
Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
Job Related Certifications / Licensing / Professional Registry or Memberships Requirements: (List below any required licensing/certifications to perform any essential job duties).
Driving Requirements: Required to drive a Company vehicle on behalf of Company.
Essential Job Duties:
Assists the Safety and Security Manager with designing and implementing clear policies and procedures pertaining to the Safety of all Rescue Mission campuses as well as procedures for Security related tasks.
Maintains OCRM radio equipment. Ensures radio equipment is in compliance with FCC regulations. Continues to program and fix mobile radio issues.
Assists Manager with OSHA and DOT checklists, documentation and follow up.
Logs and follows up on Incident and Inspection Reports to make sure any safety hazards are fixed and OCRM facilities are up to code.
Assists with coordinating and maintaining a comprehensive emergency disaster preparedness plan for all Rescue Mission campuses.
Monitors CCTV surveillance cameras for all facilities, at the request of management provide specific video segments of students, and troubleshoot any issues.
Works with CM team to resolve student security concerns by conducting interviews, room searches, reviewing video and performing drug and alcohol screenings.
Creates ID cards for all employees, and students and grant door access accordingly. Troubleshoots and fixes all lock issues, as well as issues in the Card Access system.
Maintains emergency facilities, equipment, communication systems and order Security and Safety supplies.
Works weekend or evening VOH events to provide security and oversite of parking. Will report into work if called upon due to a sudden emergency situation such as fire or medical situation.
Issues parking permits to all employee and student vehicles parking at the Village of Hope, and maintains record of all vehicles.
Serves as the primary point of contact for managing the emergency hotline after hours in the absence of the Safety and Security Manager, and provides coverage for overnight security shifts as required.
Patrol and Surveillance: Ensures patrols are conducted effectively with accurate monitoring and reporting, while ensuring security camera footage is reviewed and retrieved in a timely manner.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensures all campuses adhere to state, city, and organizational safety and security policies and procedures.
