JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of all District automobiles, buses, trucks, and other related equipment and for providing support to the Shop Manager for various duties and responsibilities, as needed.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or Vocational Degree from an accredited institution in the field of Automotive Technology, or related field
Three years’ experience in automotive, school bus maintenance, or other type of fleet maintenance
OR
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS
Must maintain current and valid Florida Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B, with a Passenger Endorsement 'P' or able to attain within 6 months of employment
Must maintain a driving record that meets the standards of the District Safe Driver Plan. Driver's license must be maintained as a condition of continued employment
Must maintain current and valid Florida Department of Education School Bus Safety Inspector Certification or able to attain within 1 year of employment
Must maintain ASE A/C Certification or able to attain within 6 months of employment
