FORTRESS ELEVATOR, LLC Elevating What Matters Controller — Commercial Elevator Company Dickinson, TX (on-site) · Full-time · Compensation - Depending on Experience (DOE) About the Role Fortress Elevator is a commercial elevator service and modernization company on a strong growth track. We’re hiring our first dedicated Controller to own the accounting operation as we scale — the close, the general ledger, financial reporting, accounts receivable and payable, payroll accounting, job costing, and internal controls. You’ll report to the Director of Finance and lead the accounting team. A company is run by its numbers, and this role makes sure those numbers are accurate, complete, and on time — the foundation leadership steers by. What You’ll Do Own the monthly close and the general ledger; deliver accurate, timely financial statements and division-level P&Ls Keep account reconciliations current — bank, AR, AP, and intercompany Run accounts receivable and payable, and approve payments under a dual-control architecture Own payroll accounting, labor burden, and job costing (estimate-to-actual margin, change orders, retainage) Enforce internal controls and document accounting policies and procedures Support external audit and tax preparation; deliver clean actuals to the Director of Finance for cash forecasting Supervise, schedule, and develop the accounting staff What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA or CPA-eligible preferred 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of a monthly close and internal controls, with staff-supervision experience Construction, field-service, or project-based accounting (job costing, work-in-process, retainage) — a strong plus Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and multi-entity / intercompany experience — a plus A sharp eye for accuracy, deadlines, and controls Why Fortress Own the accounting function end-to-end and build it as the company grows A direct line to the Director of Finance and visible impact on how the company is run Competitive salary [DOE] Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA Vacation and PTO Fortress Elevator, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
