Position Objective The Benefits & Compensation Manager role plays a key role in shaping OneEnergy's culture and ensuring that we attract and retain top talent. This role is responsible for managing OneEnergy's benefit programs, compensation programs, HR compliance, and leaves of absences. This role is hybrid, with a preference for the hire to be based out of our Madison, WI office. However, we are open to considering candidates who would be based out of our Boulder, CO or Seattle, WA office as well.
Responsibilities Manages employee benefit programs and annual benefit enrollment process, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life Insurance, 401(k), FSA, and ancillary benefits
Assesses and analyzes benefit programs and presents recommendations to leadership
Facilitates benefit administration and creates and executes benefit-related communications
Manages broker and carrier relationships and performance to ensure optimal delivery of our benefit programs
Supports the administration of salary surveys to ensure competitive pay practices
Evaluates job descriptions to determine appropriate FLSA status and salary grades
Manages annual rewards process, including system setup for merit and bonus recommendations
Administers leaves of absences, including documentation management, hour tracking, keeping managers informed of leave requests and status, and ensuring compliance with local and federal laws
Supports the interactive process with employees to determine Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance and reasonable accommodations
Supports the rollout of HR programs, including project management and communication with the business
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance for all owned processes
Conducts internal audits, including required training, I-9s, employee files, and wage-and-hour regulations
Partners with external counsel on annual review and updates for HR policies and Employee Handbook
Manages relationships and contracts with HR vendors, including renewals of systems and programs
Participates in OneEnergy's Safety Committee, supporting initiatives designed to proactively identify hazards, reduce workplace injuries, and cultivate a culture of safety
Provides support / backup for HR and Madison-office operations including but not limited to onboarding, offboarding, general employee inquiries, system administration, process documentation
Collaborates with leadership, HR, and other key stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives that promote a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
Requirements Bachelor's degree preferred
At least 5 years' HR experience, including at least 3 years' experience in benefits administration
Solid understanding of compensation principles and practices, including consulting leaders on compensation decisions
Preference for experience participating in compensation surveys and benchmarking roles to establish market-based compensation practices
Understanding of leave laws and regulations
Preference for experience managing leaves of absences
CEBS and SHRM-CP and/or PHR certification preferred
Proven ability to lead HR programs
Ability to build and maintain trust with employees and leaders at all levels and manage sensitive and confidential information
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Solid understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws
Strong attention to detail

Ability to handle multiple projects and work successfully in a dynamic team environment
Comfortable with a work environment that is fast paced and changes quickly

Experience with Rippling HRIS preferred
Compensation and Benefits OneEnergy's compensation packages are dependent on an array of factors including, but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, geographic location, and other organizational needs. Salary ranges for this position vary depending on location: Madison, WI ($80,000 – $120,000), Boulder, CO ($90,000 – $130,000), Seattle, WA ($100,000 – $140,000).
