Property Maintenance Technician
Location: Bend / Redmond, OR (travel throughout Central Oregon)Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday + rotating on-callPay: $22–$30/hour DOE + benefitsPosition SummaryHigh Desert Property Management is seeking a reliable, skilled Maintenance Technician to support our growing portfolio of residential properties across Central Oregon.This is a hands-on role focused on executing maintenance work orders, supporting unit turns, and maintaining property quality standards. The ideal candidate is a strong multi-trade technician who takes pride in doing clean, efficient work and communicating professionally with tenants and team members.This is not a management role — we are looking for someone who shows up, gets work done right, and contributes to a high-functioning maintenance operation.Reports ToOperations Manager / Maintenance CoordinatorCore ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & RepairsPerform general maintenance across multiple trades: plumbing, electrical (basic), appliances, carpentry, drywall, painting, and minor HVACDiagnose issues and complete repairs efficiently and correctly the first timeExecute re-keys, lock changes, and basic security hardware installsComplete work orders through AppFolio/Property Meld with clear notes and photosMaintain clean, professional job sitesWork Orders & CommunicationRespond to assigned work orders in a timely mannerCommunicate clearly with tenants when on-siteDocument all work with notes, photos, and time trackingFlag issues that require escalation, vendor involvement, or larger repairsUnit TurnsAssist with unit turnovers including:Punch list completionMinor repairs and touch-up workAppliance installs/replacementsBasic cleaning coordination (as needed)Help ensure units are rent-ready on scheduleInspections & Property CarePerform basic inspections when assignedIdentify deferred maintenance issuesReport potential risks or larger repair needs earlyOn-Call & EmergenciesParticipate in rotating on-call scheduleRespond to urgent issues (leaks, heat loss, lockouts, etc.)QualificationsRequired3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience (property management, construction, or facilities)Solid multi-trade capability across at least 3–4 areas (plumbing, electrical basics, carpentry, etc.)Valid Oregon driver’s license and reliable transportationComfortable using smartphone apps for work orders, photos, and communicationAbility to lift 50+ lbs and work in varied environmentsStrong work ethic and reliabilityPreferredExperience with AppFolio, Property Meld, or similar systemsBasic HVAC knowledge or EPA certificationOregon LME (or working toward it)Bilingual (English/Spanish)What Success Looks LikeWork orders completed on time, cleanly, and correctlyMinimal callbacks or reworkClear, consistent documentation in the systemPositive tenant interactionsStrong support of turnover timelinesCompensation & Benefits$22–$30/hour depending on experienceVehicle or mileage reimbursementHealth insurance (80% employer-paid)Paid time off + holidaysOn-call compensationStable, year-round workAbout High Desert Property ManagementHigh Desert Property Management has served Central Oregon since 2011, managing residential properties across Bend, Redmond, Sisters, Prineville, La Pine, and Madras.We focus on high-quality service, strong systems, and operational excellence, maintaining high occupancy and long-term client relationships.How to ApplySubmit:ResumeSummary of your maintenance experienceAny licenses or certificationsExamples of work you’ve handledHealth insurancePaid time offWork Location: In person
