RT Student/ Patient Transporter

Transports patients to and from the Radiology/ CV Services Department utilizing safe patient transport methods as needed.RESPONSIBILITIES• Transports patients of any age to and from the Radiology department following appropriate protocol.• Prints/delivers patient ticket to ride and patient handoff information to appropriate staff.• Checks armband for patient identification.• Transports contrast media and non-narcotic medication upon request. • Practices proper body mechanics during transport.• Ensures patient safety while enroute to and from department.• Responsible for patient's chart during transportation.• Monitors patient condition while in transit.• Recognizes emergency situations and seeks assistance as needed.• Follows proper isolation techniques.• Operates oxygen tanks correctly.• Cleans and maintains rolling equipment, i.e. stretchers/wheelchairs.• Responsible for equipment inventory each day.EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONSAccepted student finalist in AnMed Health Radiologic Technology program. Student will have received confirmation by AnMed Health Radiologic Technology program.• High School diploma or GED equivalency• Experience in a healthcare setting helpful but not essential• Must be able to see, and hear normal sounds, walk and stand for prolonged periods, and give/receive verbal communicationPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy Exertion x Moderate Exertion - Mild Exertion
