With global reach and products that exceed industry standards, they are recognized for socially responsible manufacturing and forestry practices working toward a sustainable future.Job Summary:The Accounting – Import Specialist is responsible for ensuring accuracy and compliance in import-related financial transactions, including duties, tariffs, and customs fees. This role plays a key part in maintaining cost transparency and supporting supply chain operations by validating, coding, and reconciling import-related invoices and documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly proficient in Excel, and experienced in working with customs and logistics data.Key Responsibilities:Review, validate, and process invoices related to import duties, tariffs, taxes, and customs broker feesEnsure invoices align with customs entry documentation and broker statementsCode invoices accurately to appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centersReview customs entry summaries (e.g., CBP Form 7501) to verify duty, tariff, and fee accuracyValidate tariff classifications, duty rates, and additional fees (MPF, HMF, antidumping, etc.)Investigate discrepancies between broker invoices, entry documents, and internal recordsCoordinate with customs brokers to resolve billing issues, errors, or adjustmentsReconcile customs broker statements to accounts payable and general ledger balancesSupport reporting and analysis of tariff and customs costs for budgeting and forecastingCommunicate with logistics, supply chain, and brokers to ensure accurate HTS classificationsServe as a point of contact for customs brokers and freight forwarders on billing mattersAssist with ad hoc finance and trade-related projects as assignedQualificationsRequired:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field, or 2+ years of experience in import or logisticsWorking knowledge of tariffs and U.S. Customs processesStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applicationsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to analyze data and reconcile discrepanciesBenefits:Health, Dental, and Vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid Time Off and Paid Holidays
