Product Development Engineer-High Performance Computing

Overview In this role, you will help create reference VR system designs and simulation tools for cutting-edge power conversion. You’ll work across a product development team to translate customer requirements into robust solutions and validate them through testing and bring-up. You’ll collaborate with customers and industry leaders to shape advanced power electronics solutions. This is a growth-focused position with opportunities to take on increasing responsibility as you contribute to NPI and product qualification. ResponsibilitiesDesign VR systems independently and with the teamArchitect complete customer-driven systems and support design-in, bring-up, and validationWrite specifications from customer requirements and ensure product meets those needsDesign, simulate, prototype, test, and optimize custom circuitry with Advanced productsConduct system-level bench testingDevelop reference designs and evaluation PCBsSupport corporate New Product Introduction (NPI) effortsTroubleshoot and optimize customer systems using Vicor Advanced productsDemonstrate system solutions and prototypes to customers Key requirements5+ years experience in Power Electronics Design, Product Development, or Applications EngineeringExcellent understanding of analog design and an analytical approach to engineeringTroubleshooting skills with basic power circuitry and systemsFamiliarity with feedback and other control systemsFamiliarity with Intel VR specifications for CPU core or Memory a plusFamiliarity with modeling and design tools such as MATLAB Simulink, Altium, SPICE, Simplis, and SimetrixContact or experience with Blue Chip or Tier 1 VR customers desiredcreativetalenteddrivenPower Electronics designAnalog circuit designControl systems and feedback
