CNC Mill Operator/ Programmer

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Mill Operator/Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced CNC milling equipment, including 5-axis CNC machines and CNC lathes, to produce precision-engineered components. The ideal candidate will be proficient in CNC programming, setup, and operation, with a strong foundation in mechanical blueprint interpretation and measurement techniques. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC milling machines, including 5-axis CNC machines, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards. Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM software, Fanuc controls, and CAD/CAM integration tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and CATIA. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to produce accurate parts. Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for machining operations; perform tool setup and adjustments as needed. Conduct precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part accuracy. Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling wear, or machine performance; implement lean manufacturing principles for continuous improvement. Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspection results, and machine maintenance logs to ensure quality control. Skills Extensive experience with CNC programming using Fanuc controls; familiarity with other control systems is a plus. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and engineering CAD design tools for part modeling and schematic interpretation. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical blueprint interpretation for accurate manufacturing. Knowledge of CAM software for toolpath generation on various CNC machines including mills and lathes. Skilled in the setup and operation of CNC tooling, machining tools, and fixtures for precision metal machining. Mechanical knowledge combined with expertise in electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is advantageous. Ability to utilize precision measurement instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), bore gauges, and schematics for quality assurance. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality. Strong math skills essential for programming calculations involving geometry and measurement tolerances.
