Engineer I - Structural
Position Overview
The Engineer I - Structural is an entry-level position for professional engineering work, focused on developing foundational knowledge and skills. This individual performs assignments that apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria across a sequence of related tasks. They apply basic judgment in the application of established methods and in selecting among basic engineering alternatives, while building technical capability within the discipline.
The Engineer I - Structural reports to the Department Manager, and is expected to demonstrate an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities and continues to grow in both knowledge and practical application.

Typical DutiesResponsibilities
Performs defined portions of broader engineering assignments using established methods and guidance from experienced engineers
Performs standard computations and analysis
May participate in site visits or observe construction activities to support project understanding
Submits work to the Project Manager for QA/QC review and incorporates feedback as needed
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam – or is in the process of obtaining
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Discipline)
Ability to follow direction
Willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to engineering project work through internships, coursework, or field experience
Interest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
Strong communication and organizational skills
