Senior Millwork Engineer / Drafter

Our client is a well-established custom millwork manufacturer known for delivering complex architectural woodwork solutions across commercial, healthcare, hospitality, and institutional markets. As demand continues to grow, they are expanding their engineering team with experienced professionals who can drive projects from concept through production. The Role The Senior Millwork Engineer / Drafter is responsible for producing accurate shop drawings, coordinating technical details, and supporting the successful execution of custom millwork projects from engineering kickoff through installation. The Senior Millwork Engineer / Drafter will collaborate closely with Project Managers, production, purchasing, and installation teams to ensure engineering packages are complete, manufacturable, and delivered on schedule. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges while working in a fast-paced, custom manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Engineering & Drafting Produce detailed shop drawings and submittal packages using AutoCAD and Cabinet Vision or Microvellum Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and customer requirements Complete field dimension updates and installation drawings Ensure engineering documentation supports efficient manufacturing and installation Project Coordination Support engineering efforts from project kickoff through completion Coordinate with Project Managers, production, purchasing, and field teams Assist with material take-offs and procurement planning Resolve design conflicts and engineering questions throughout the project lifecycle Technical Problem Solving Identify constructability issues before production Support value engineering initiatives and engineering revisions Communicate engineering updates and project risks to internal stakeholders Experience & Profile 5+ years of experience engineering or drafting architectural millwork or custom cabinetry projects Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Experience with Cabinet Vision or Microvellum Understanding of millwork construction methods, materials, and fabrication processes Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Experience with Bluebeam Revu is a plus EEO Statement All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
