Company Description The New York Auto Museum Experience Center (NYAM) is a proposed modern, state-of-the-art automotive museum slated for a 200,000+ square-foot facility in Manhattan. It features innovative designs, including a massive rooftop patio and partial glassed floors that offer visitors unique perspectives of vehicles, both above and below. NYAM revolutionizes the traditional museum experience and allows guests to sit in up to 50 historical vehicles. This immersive approach redefines how automotive history is explored and appreciated. Role Description This is a part-time, remote position for a Museum Board Member at the New York Auto Museum Experience Center 4-8hr per month. As a board member, you will contribute to the overall governance and strategic vision of the organization, offering guidance on long-term planning, fundraising, and public engagement strategies. Responsibilities include attending regular board meetings, participating in committee work, collaborating with other board members, and providing expert insights to support the museum’s mission. Board members will also actively contribute to promoting the museum’s presence and developing partnerships with stakeholders. Qualifications Leadership, strategic planning, and governance skills to guide the museum’s vision and decision-making.Experience in fundraising, donor development, and cultivating relationships with sponsors or patrons.Knowledge or expertise in the automotive industry, museum management, or cultural institutions is highly valued.Strong communication, collaboration, and team-building skills to foster effective partnerships with other board members and stakeholders.Capability to work independently in a remote setting while ensuring timely collaboration with team members and organization leadership.A passion for automotive history and innovation, aligned with NYAM's mission to inspire and educate the community.Prior experience serving on a board or in a leadership position within similar organizations is a plus.
