Job Description Position Type: Direct HireLocation: Baytown, TXWork Model: Fully On-SiteJob SummaryAgency 8 is partnering with an established equipment dealership to hire a Controller who will oversee all accounting operations across multiple divisions, with a strong focus on fleet and inventory accounting, floor plan financing, and financial reporting. This is a hands-on leadership role that works closely with ownership to ensure accuracy, operational efficiency, and sound financial management.The ideal candidate brings deep accounting expertise, strong GAAP knowledge, and proven experience within an equipment, automotive, or dealership environment. This role requires a proactive leader who has operated in multi-entity or multi-division structures, understands floor plan financing across multiple banking relationships, and is comfortable owning true cash flow reporting. Experience working directly with ownership, tracking inventory turns, and leveraging ERP systems to drive financial visibility is highly valued. The right individual will be hands-on, able to manage daily accounting functions, supervise staff, and drive continuous improvement across financial processes.Key ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day accounting operations and monthly closePrepare and deliver financial reporting (daily, weekly, monthly), including true cash flow visibilityManage fleet and inventory accounting, including tracking, depreciation, inventory turns, and reconciliationOversee floor plan financing across multiple lenders and ensure complianceMonitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capitalLead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisSupervise AP/AR, billing, payroll, and collectionsEnsure accurate job costing across service, rentals, and salesMaintain internal controls and ensure GAAP compliancePartner with CPA on year-end close and K-1sOversee equipment invoicing and revenue recognitionManage inventory counts and reconciliations across multiple divisionsAnalyze financial performance and identify improvement opportunitiesSupport HR/payroll/benefits (PEO environment)Lead and develop accounting staffQualifications8+ years of accounting experience, preferably within equipment, automotive, or dealership environmentsExperience working in organizations with multiple bank relationships and floor plan structuresStrong GAAP knowledge and financial statement preparationProven experience with inventory/fleet accounting, inventory turns, and floor plan financingExperience with ERP systems and leveraging them for financial reporting and operational insightJob costing experience highly desiredExperience reporting directly to ownership or executive leadership preferredStrong analytical, organizational, and leadership skillsAdvanced Excel proficiencyBenefits & PerksRoom for growth and advancementHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k)Supplemental insurance (Aflac)Paid Time Off (PTO)Annual performance-based bonusesJob #2190Company DescriptionWe offer great compensation, great benefits, room for growth, and a strong team culture.Excellent benefits and great culture.
