Job DescriptionCertification DetailsIllinois state RN LicenseBLSACLSPALSJob DetailsThe staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients during a designated time frame, providing care via the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the institution's philosophy.Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service.Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care to assure integration of information for the healthcare team.Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs.Implements and modifies plan of care and nursing interventions based on continuous evaluation.Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting safety hazards and incidents.Communicates effectively to resolve issues and offers constructive feedback for professional development.Identifies own learning needs and fulfills departmental competencies.Department specific functions include implementing procedures specific to ED nursing, patient assessment, care plan development and modification, ensuring patient and staff safety, effective communication, and maintaining accurate patient records.Job RequirementsMinimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience.Required Education: ASN.Preferred Education: BSN.Required Certifications & Licensure: Illinois state RN License in good standing, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), PALS (American Heart Association).Preferred Certifications & Licensure: TNCC preferred.Schedule InformationShift: Day.Hours per day: 12.Hours per week: 36.Unit Specific InformationEmergency Department (ED) nursing specialty.Trauma experience preferred (Trauma 2 required, Trauma 1 highly preferred).Unit requires EPIC experience.Additional DetailsUnit requires EPIC experience.Unit preferences: At least Trauma 2 experience, Trauma 1 highly preferred.
