Manufacturing Lead
Job Title: Group Lead (Manufacturing/Production Lead)Location: Minnetonka, MN 55345Duration: 1-Year ContractShift Timing: 3:00 PM – 2:30 AM (Monday to Thursday)Pay Rate: $28.57/hour on W2Overtime: This position requires overtime as needed during the week and on Fridays.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Group Lead to support production operations and coordinate activities within assigned manufacturing areas. The ideal candidate will ensure production schedules, quality standards, and operational goals are consistently achieved while supporting team communication, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate daily production activities to ensure products are processed according to build schedules.Communicate work instructions and production priorities to manufacturing personnel.Monitor and ensure achievement of quality and production targets.Perform regular process, tooling, equipment, and quality audits in assigned areas.Report equipment failures and coordinate resolution with supervisors or appropriate teams.Track work-in-process inventory and daily production output.Assist in training operators and provide re-training support when defects are identified.Support priority product builds and urgent manufacturing tasks.Inspect rejected components and determine disposition per documentation requirements.Perform manufacturing operations when needed to support production schedules.Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements, industry trends, and company objectives.Coordinate equipment and service purchase requests.Identify root causes of operational issues and help implement corrective actions.Conduct daily meetings with manufacturing operators to promote communication and continuous improvement.Ensure preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration records/stickers are current.Participate in 5S audits and weekly value stream meetings with other Group Leads.Conduct BBSP observations and assist employees with training and Employee Self-Service (ESS) support.Support Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and all company initiatives.Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.Maintain positive working relationships with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.Perform additional duties as assigned.Required Skills & QualificationsStrong communication and leadership abilities.Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Knowledge of quality systems, audits, and continuous improvement practices.Basic understanding of FDA and regulatory compliance requirements preferred.Experience in manufacturing, production coordination, or team lead roles is a plus.Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
