We’re looking for someone who loves news and wants to report it at the speed of the internet, on every platform.The ideal candidate is creative, fast, digitally native, and comfortable operating without many of the traditional newsroom systems. This candidate should be equally comfortable producing live coverage, editing vertical video, creating social-first content, jumping on trends, and helping shape the future of our brand in real time. ResponsibilitiesProduce live and recorded streaming news contentCreate social-first news content for platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, and emerging platformsWrite, edit, clip, and publish content quickly and accuratelyIdentify trending stories, formats, and opportunities in real timeEdit video for multiple formats and platforms using desktop editing systemsCollaborate with reporters, creators, and newsroom teamsEnsure fast turnaround on breaking news, weather, and developing storiesBalance speed with strong editorial standards and accuracyExperiment with new storytelling approaches and platform strategiesQualificationsMinimum 3 years of experience in newsgathering and/or productionMinimum 3 years of experience writing, producing, and using desktop editing systemsBachelor’s Degree or equivalent experienceExperience line-producing newscastsExperience editing content on desktop editing systemsStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to make priority decisions under deadline pressureStrong ability to deliver news as it develops across current and future platformsTeam-player mentality with the ability to work collaboratively across departments Desired CharacteristicsStrong situational awareness and editorial judgment for news and weather coverageAbility to react quickly to breaking news and rapidly changing storiesExperience editing content using non-linear editing systemsStrong strategic thinking, research, and organizational skillsExcellent time management and ability to prioritize assignmentsExperience producing and updating content on a streaming wheelFamiliarity with streaming and digital platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, and emerging platformsDeep understanding of social media trends, audience behavior, and platform-native storytellingCreative mindset with a passion for evolving how news is presented and consumedFully Bilingual (English/Spanish) Additional RequirementsMust have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United StatesMust be willing to work in New York, NYMust be 18 years or olderRequired On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite Pay range - $70,000 - $100,000 Additional InformationAs part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with an NBCUniversal employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
