The hours may include short periods of shift work due to construction retrofit work requirement that will need to be conducted when building occupants are out of the building. This will include working evening hours working within our construction team.Future of Work: We envision this role being a local resource who would be able to commit to projects within the mid-Atlantic region. Future travel would likely be required at approximately 20-30%.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as SSHO, directly reporting to the Director of Environmental, Health & SafetyImplement, maintain, and monitor the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System in accordance with ISO 45001 standardsEnforce the Safety Accident Prevention Plan and ensure adherence to safety protocolsTrack and resolve safety and health deficiencies, maintaining an up-to-date deficiency listWrite safety proposals, interpret regulations, create training materials, and develop safety inspection toolsEnsure subcontractor compliance with CEG's safety standards and site-specific regulationsAssist in managing project schedules and facilitating site access, including visits and deliveriesIdentify and mitigate potential risks on-siteSupport business development during project executionCollect field data and images as requiredPerform additional field or office duties as assignedQualificationsAssociates or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field (preferred)Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety management and/or construction on-site fieldwork with strong computer documentation skillsPassion for energy efficiency, alternative energy, and sustainability within construction and project managementU.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a government security clearanceDesired Skills And AttributesAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as neededStrong sense of self-direction, problem solving skills and commitment to excellenceExceptional attention to detail and keen observational skills and ability to resolve undefined challengesExcellent written and verbal communication abilities are critical; Engineering, analytical, and technical writing skills are a plusProven ability to work effectively within high-performing, multi-disciplinary teamsKnowledge of safety and quality control standards and proceduresFamiliarity with EM 385 and OSHA-30 certification is desirable; CSP or ASP certification is a bonusCEG Solutions centers our culture and business process around a simple set of seven operating principles. The employee must also be able to easily communicate with clients, stakeholders, and other employees and observe various pieces of equipment in the field. The employee must occasionally move and/or transport up to 75 pounds.While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at the construction work site where the employee where risk of moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud. Personal protection equipment and required safety training will be provided by the employer.
