Work involves most of the following: Planning and laying out of work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions, using a variety of carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments; making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work; and selecting materials necessary for the work. In general, the work of the maintenance carpenter requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experienceSalary $32.16/ hr. plus $10.00 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!See ALL the fantastic benefits you receive as an employee of EMI below!!Key Responsibilities Repair building woodwork and equipment such as bins, cribs, counters, benches, partitions, doors, floors, stairs, casings, and trim made of woodPlan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructionsUse a variety of carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instrumentsMake standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work; and selecting materials necessary for the workEssential SkillsKnowledge of all tools and equipment that are used by the craftAbility to read and understand blueprints, construction drawings, schematics and diagrams as they pertain to the craftPerform work of the craft in a rapid and efficient manner under extreme conditionsPerform work safely under hazardous conditionsAbility to trouble shoot and repair most complex problemsExpert knowledge of craft theory and craft materials with the ability to apply the theory and select the proper materialsAbility to operate numerous equipment for the trade i.e. forklifts, scissor/man lifts, bobcat backhoe, etcAble to operate any industrial size tools to complete all tasks i.e. table saws, band saws, planers, sanders and routersAdaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructionsRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent 4+ years of experience in the Carpentry tradeValid driver's license compliant with REAL ID Act or are you willing and able to obtain onePass a pre-employment drug screening and background checkU.
