This role provides technical leadership, ensures regulatory and QA compliance, and manages multiple design efforts simultaneously.The ideal candidate has extensive experience in power plant electrical system design, strong project coordination skills, and the ability to independently lead large-scale engineering efforts with minimal supervision.Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Power System DesignAssist in preparing and overseeing electrical power system design activitiesDevelop and review:Scope documentsProject schedules and budgetsSingle-line diagramsElementary and wiring diagramsLayout and circuitry designsEnsure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, QA requirements, and federal/state/local regulations Technical LeadershipProvide technical direction to engineers, designers, and draftersReview design details, drawings, and engineering calculationsSupport checkout and startup of systems as neededServe as a technical resource across engineering disciplines Project CoordinationSchedule and coordinate engineering projects to meet cost and timeline objectivesManage multiple projects simultaneouslyMake independent engineering decisions with appropriate consultation with management Cross-Functional CollaborationCommunicate effectively with plant operations, maintenance, vendors, and other engineering disciplinesBuild effective working relationships with plant staff and external partnersSupport large-scale design efforts at fossil-fired generating facilities Required QualificationsAccredited Bachelor's Degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum 10 years of related experienceStrong knowledge of engineering design principles, preferably in:Fossil-fired power plant electrical systemsExperience providing technical direction in preparation of:Design detailsDrawingsCalculationsExperience coordinating projects to meet cost and schedule targetsProficiency with applicable codes, QA standards, and regulatory requirementsAbility to work independently on large projects with limited supervisionStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Preferred QualificationsExperience using AutoCAD and CAD OverlayPrior experience in fossil-fired generation environmentsDemonstrated initiative and strong organizational skills Core CompetenciesPower plant electrical system expertiseRegulatory and QA complianceMulti-project managementIndependent decision-makingStrong interpersonal and technical communication skills
