Design Manager – A/E Services
Struction Solutions, LLC is searching for a Design Manager for A/E (Architectural & Engineering) Services he Design Manager – A/E Services that plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between client needs and the technical execution of a project. They ensure that the design aligns with the client's vision while being feasible and compliant with all necessary regulations. Their leadership helps streamline the design process, reducing delays and cost overruns, and ultimately contributes to the successful completion of construction and engineering projects.
Duties:
Manage Design Processes: Oversee and coordinate the district's design processes for Architectural and Engineering (A&E) services to ensure plans meet functional programs, budget constraints, environmental standards, and legal requirements.
Project Oversight: Manage multiple projects, including engineering and critical repairs, by collaborating with architects, consultants, and district personnel to ensure timely completion.
Compliance Assurance: Supervise the building design process to ensure adherence to LAUSD's standards and guidelines, working with design professionals and district administrators to ensure new and renovated structures comply with educational and building standards.
Architectural Firm Selection: Develop and implement a process to identify and select the most qualified architectural firms for each project based on their qualifications and performance capabilities.
Direction to Architects: Provide architects with clear and consistent guidance regarding project goals, objectives, standards, site requirements, schedules, and budgets.
Design Review Process: Establish and maintain an effective design review process to ensure each project's design meets its overall goals and objectives.
Budget Optimization: Ensure maximum value is achieved within the allocated budget, delivering designs that are appropriate, enduring, and meet the functional needs of the district, local community, and environment.
Budget Compliance: Review design changes to ensure projects remain within budgetary limits.
Project Monitoring: Track project planning and design statuses, reporting findings, recommendations, and updates as needed.
Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Required Experience:
Experience: At least 8 years of full-time, paid professional experience in managing facilities design or planning and coordinating capital projects, including overall design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling activities.
Specific Experience: Out of the total experience, a minimum of 4 years must be in the design, planning, and construction of educational facilities or similar public agencies.
Required Education:
Degree: Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering from a recognized college or university.
Preferred Licenses and Certificates:
Architect License: Valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California State Architectural Board.
Engineer License: Professional Engineer license issued by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
