Part-Time Collaborative Pianist
DescriptionThis position is responsible for accompanying ensembles and lessons on pianos assigned by the academic dean. Methodology includes face-to-face instruction.Job DutiesThis position is responsible for accompanying vocal and theatre ensembles on piano.Evaluate and report student performances and progress in courses in accordance with college and division policies and proceduresMust meet Minimum Faculty Standards for hire and adhere to college policies and proceduresPromote, develop, and deliver quality education programs with the intent to retain students to graduationDemonstrate IWCC’s core mission, vision and valuesMeet minimum expectations for use of the college Learning Management System (post the syllabus to the course page by college deadlines, record student attendance, and maintain an accurate and current gradebook for all graded course activities)and for reports (roster verification, 5th week and 10th week progress reports, final grades, and course assessments)Assess and document student learning outcomes in courses each term in accordance with college policies and proceduresOrganize and teach labs as assigned by the academic deanComplete required professional development and trainingsExhibit a positive and professional demeanor with all members of the college and community, contributing to a productive and growth-oriented work environmentPromote, model, and enforce academic integrityBe available to answer student questions outside of class time (student conferences can be held on campus in a designated student conferencing space or via phone, web conferencing, or email)Help students achieve their educational and career goalsRefer students to college resourcesMaintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and Title IX regulationsAdhere to safety policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedQualificationsTo teach arts and science courses:Master’s degree is requiredAt least 18 graduate credit hours in the disciplineTo teach career and technical education (CTE) courses:Depending upon discipline one of the following requirements must be metBachelor’s or graduate degree in the disciplineAt least 18undergraduatecredit hours in the disciplineAssociate degree in the discipline if considered terminal and 3000 hours of recent and relevant work experienceSpecial training and6000 hours of relevant tested work experienceSome disciplines require additional licensure or certificationExcellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate in both small and large group settings and with diverse groups of people including co-workers, students, business contacts and at various levels from front-line to administrationStrong organizational skills including the ability to multitask, to meet deadlines, to maintain and access paper and electronic files, to produce error-free final products and to manage time and outputExcellent customer service skillsProficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)Ability to read, write and speak English fluentlyEnthusiastic and dedicated to the challenges of helping other peopleAbility to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer-oriented teamProfessional in communication, appearance, relationships, and responsivenessPositive attitudeSelf-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervisionAbility to pass a background checkPhysical DemandsThe employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hearAbility to lift up to 10lbsCognitive Requirements: (as presently performed to accomplish essential functions)Reading, Writing, CalculatingSocial Interaction SkillsReasoning/AnalysisWorks with Minimal SupervisionWe offer paid time off, sick leave, and holidays for our part-time employees.
