Community Mortgage Lending Officer SAFE Act - SAN FRANCISCO
The Community Mortgage Lending Officer is responsible for driving mortgage sales and client relationships through engagement with community clients, diverse real estate agents, and affordable housing non-profit partners in coordination with the Consumer Product Sales team. The role is directly responsible for the sale of a specific product or product set directly to clients.ResponsibilitiesConsult with customers about their financial situation, personal objectives and lending needs to help them achieve their home ownership goals.Collect and analyze information about the customer's financial situation, goals, risk tolerance and future plans.Analyze financial information to determine whether the customer and the property may qualify for a lending solution.Make recommendations to customers about which lending solutions would best meet their financial and personal objectives.Advise customers about the consequences, risks, and benefits of alternative lending solutions.Promote Citi's brand and lending solutions to real estate agencies, builders, referral sources, and customers.Visit customers outside of Citi's offices, with visits varying based on clientele, geography, and market conditions.Collaborate with internal partners to support and grow customer relationships.Refer customers to appropriate Citi professionals for services beyond lending.Partner with Operations teams to ensure seamless transfer of loan applications to Processors and Underwriters.Work with Processors/Closers and customers to ensure timely closing of loans.Go outside to key referral relationships (Realtors, CPAs, Builders, etc.) to drive mortgage business into the bank.Appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.Introduce clients to segment partners when appropriate (Bank, Wealth Management, Small Business, Cards, etc.).Keep abreast of trends and developments in the local marketplace, changing rules and regulations, and expand internal and external networks to better serve clients and professionals.Attend a minimum of 2–3 diverse realtor and/or affordable housing nonprofit events per month.Qualifications2–5 years of relevant experience.Residential mortgage experience required.3+ years of mortgage sales experience required.Established relationships with diverse realtor organizations and affordable lending nonprofits in the origination territory.Experience with community loan products, including specialized LMI mortgage solutions, lender-paid assistance programs, and third-party assistance programs.Established book of business.FHA/VA and conventional loan experience preferred.Ability to comprehend and explain financial calculations and pricing alternatives.Ability to communicate with customers about the proper documents and information needed for a particular loan.Knowledge of laws and regulations governing consumer lending, including fair lending, privacy, and RESPA.Demonstrated customer service skills.Self-motivated and able to work independently.Strong relationship development and management skills.Expertise in general lending products and the overall mortgage industry.Must register as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry and obtain a unique identifier before engaging in originator activities.Originate a minimum of 3 loans per month with a 50% mix of CRA-eligible or minority tract loans.EducationBachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.Salary: $90,000.00 — $90,000.00.In addition to salary, Citi offers competitive employee benefits, including medical, dental & vision coverage; 401(k); life, accident, and disability insurance; and wellness programs.EEO StatementCiti is an equal opportunity employer, and qualified candidates will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, status as a protected veteran, or any other characteristic protected by law.J-18808-Ljbffr
