The Database Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, designing, maintaining, and optimizing database solutions to ensure data integrity, performance, and availability. This role will work closely with customer stakeholders, application teams, and data consumers to support business and technical requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze business and technical requirements and translate them into efficient database designsDesign, develop, and maintain relational and/or NoSQL databases to support customer applicationsPerform data analysis, data profiling, and data validation to ensure accuracy and consistencyOptimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and capacity planningDevelop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functionsMonitor database health, availability, and performance; proactively identify and resolve issuesSupport data migration, data integration, and data transformation activitiesEnsure data security, compliance, and access control in line with customer and regulatory standardsCollaborate with application developers, architects, and business analysts across distributed teamsCreate and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, and operational runbooksProvide production support, root cause analysis, and issue resolution as neededRequired Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field4+ years of experience as a Database Analyst or in a similar data-focused roleStrong hands‐on experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)Experience in data analysis, data modeling, and database designSolid understanding of database performance tuning and optimization techniquesExperience working in remote or distributed team environmentsStrong analytical, problem‐solving, and communication skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with customer teamsNice to Have / Preferred SkillsExperience with cloud‐based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL, etc.)Exposure to NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, etc.)Experience with ETL tools, data integration platforms, or data pipelinesFamiliarity with data governance, data quality, and compliance frameworksPrior experience working on customer‐facing or managed service projectsKnowledge of Agile/Scrum delivery modelsWork Environment & ExpectationsRole will be performedfully remote , with regular interaction with customer stakeholdersFlexibility to support customer time zones and attend virtual meetings as requiredStrong emphasis on ownership, accountability, and quality deliveryAbout Cognizant's IoT Practice:Intelligent, IoT‐enabled products will soon result in the proliferation of data and disrupt virtually all industries. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
