Laboratory Technician

Job Title: Product Development TechnicianLocation: Cheswick, PA15024Duration: 24 Months Contract (Potential temp to perm)Pay Rate$25/hr.Shift Time: 1st shift, M-FJob Description:Responsible for benchmark testing primer, topcoat and clearcoat formulations. This position reports to the Industrial Technical Manager but will also take direction from other individual contributors on the team.Responsibilities:Test liquid and dry film coatings for properties per established test specificationsOrganize data, document and provide timely feedbackWeigh and mix solid and liquid materialsApply coatings onto substrate by established methodsFollow site safety protocols and maintain an organized and clean work areaExecution of safe work practicesWork closely with the field and manufacturing teams to ensure products meet customer requirements while meeting targets for efficient and cost-effective processing.Education and experienceAssociate Technical Degree or Certification, previous technical experience or demonstration of standard lab practices0 - 3 years of lab or field experienceCoatings formulation, application and testing experience in waterborne and solvent borne alkyd, epoxy, urethane and other resin systems is preferredSkills and knowledgeAbility to take direction from senior associatesAbility to execute experimentation with a high level of attention to detail to meet on-time, in full output with shifting demand.Problem-solving abilitiesTime management skills
