The DOD customer oversees innovative programs solving the nation’s toughest problems. This position requires an individual with experience in Software and Digital Signal Processing and the ability to manage multiple technical projects for delivery of capabilities. Ability to lead a diverse technical team as well as communicate and interact with the customer are essential daily duties. Understanding of the DoD, IC and SATCOM communities would be extremely beneficial. This is a hands on job and will require OCONUS travel.Job DutiesLead/manage the development and execution of Software(SW) mission applications and integration of COTs Hardware without well defined requirementsLead a diverse team of SW and DSP engineers in capability delivery using Agile processesLead technical planning and provide oversight for mission application design and productionContribute to the development of new concepts to enhance mission operationsInsure SW configuration management with support from System Engineering and Configuration ManagementOversee the production of necessary documentation to support fielding, operation and sustainment of mission applications to include trainingCoordinate with systems engineering lead as well as other technical staff to support development, testing, fielding and sustainment of a system of systems architectureCommunicate with customer on status of development activities, suggested process improvements, and technology insertionsPerform technical support and risk assessment and evaluation of project execution and provide assessment to program managerDevelop and manage project master schedule, integrating technical milestones and key eventsPerform tracking of project technical requirements, reports, and metricsCoordinate with other Kratos technical teams and community stakeholders to support development effortsExperience And SkillsUS CitizenCurrent Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (EE, ME, AE, CS) or applied sciences (Mathematics, Physics)Minimum ten (10) years of experience, with five (5) years in SW development and HW integrationExperience in Agile SW developmentWorking knowledge of Python, Docker and Software Designed RadiosWorking knowledge of RF fundamentals with emphasis on SATCOM modem operationsWorking knowledge of Digital Signal Processing with emphasis on SCPC signals and TDMA signalsExperience in organizing external and internal project stakeholders towards achieving project goals and objectivesAbility to brief, explain complex engineering concepts and designs to technical and non-technical personnelExperience working with diverse Engineering Staff with multiple areas of expertiseExperience developing and managing Project Management products like Program Roadmaps and Integrated Master SchedulesExperience in supporting DoD, IC, SATCOM and Space communities in mission executionPreferred Skills And ExperienceAdvanced Degree in engineering (EE, ME, AE, CS) or applied science (Mathematics, Physics)Ten years experience in SW/HW development for RF/SATCOM and/or ground systemsFamiliarity with CUDA and C++Familiarity with military and commercial space and satellite constellationsFamiliarity with Certificate to Field and other Risk Management Framework requirements for SW developmentThe grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
