Backend Engineer - NYC - Node / Postgres SQL

Our client, a rapidly growing start-up ( 8x-10x growth over last 2 years and on track to be a unicorn this year!) working in the healthcare space is adding 2 Backend Software Engineers to the team. They provide a SaaS solution that help improve healthcare at all levels. This is a hybrid role in midtown NY.This company was founded by people out of large, successful start-ups that they built in the past and now you can be part of their next successful venture. Free Healthcare for the family, 401K match , equity and of course great growth potential.Responsibilities:Design database schemas and APIs for new features.Implement features following internal engineering principles and guidelines.Independently communicate with Customer Support to investigate and resolve customer-reported issues.Provide time estimates for your work and communicate progress proactively to the team.Skills:Start-Up experience is a strong plus5+ years' experience with JavaScript, Node, Express5+ years' experience with APIsSome experience building fintech backend APIs preferred2+ years' experience with PostgreSQLExperience at a Fintech is highly helpfulAbility to work in a start-up environment (high stress/ hours)Be a self-starter, able to understand the bigger pictureAn entrepreneurial spiritPassion for creative thinking and bold ideas for growing the business and enhancing the customer experience
