This hybrid role mixes espresso & coffee craft with cocktail prep, beer/wine service, and excellent guest interaction.Key responsibilitiesPull espresso shots, steam milk, and prepare specialty coffee drinks to specPrepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and nonalcoholic beverages during brunch/lunchMaintain fast, accurate service and positive guest interactionsManage POS transactions, cash handling, and closing proceduresStock and restock bar and coffee supplies; maintain cleanliness and organizationMonitor inventory and assist with basic orderingFollow food safety, alcohol service, and responsible‑service lawsTrain and collaborate with barbacks, servers, and kitchen staffQualifications1+ year barista and/or bartending experience preferred (coffee + cocktail experience ideal)Strong knowledge of espresso equipment, drink recipes, and cocktail techniquesFriendly, efficient, and able to multitask in a busy daytime environmentExcellent communication and upselling skillsAbility to stand for long periods, lift 30+ lbs, and work flexible shifts including weekendsFood handler’s permit and alcohol server certification preferred or willingness to obtainCompensation & perksCompetitive hourly wage + tipsEmployee meal discountFlexible scheduling (morning and midday shifts)Opportunities for cross‑training and advancementHow to applyEmail resume and a short note about your coffee/cocktail experience and availability to thepatioatthesurf@gmail.com with subject: “Bartender/Barista Application — Your Name.”
